My name is Dan Goronszy, I'm a Reservoir based artist, and we are making a map of Reservoir that includes a collection of community memories and unofficial histories of the area. This project is proudly supported by Darebin City Council.

Maps with the memories included will be available for free from cafes, shops and businesses later in the year.

There are two giant maps placed in public spaces in Reservoir, where you will find us having a chat and collecting stories.

Reservoir Library: Sat 10th 10:30 - 12:30 & Fri 16th 10:30 - 1:30

The window of Kids on Broadway: Sat 10th 1:30 - 3:30 & Thur 15th 10:30 - 1:30 .

Need some inspriation?

The map will cover the area from Edwards Lake to the Reservoir Leisure Centre, so across both shopping areas, both side of the Reservoir Station and the neighbourhoods there.

The memories on the map will be anonymous and include the year they happened. Stories can be old or new, funny, touching, meaningful or more. For example: have you been part of something or saw something you still think about? Did you grow up in Reservoir in the 50's? Or have you arrived in the neighbourhood more recently? Maybe you are a new resident from another homeland? Or maybe your family has been here for generations?

All these memories and stories are important and they reflect the rich diversity of people sharing the same streets, the same parks, shops, schools and neighbourhood.
